COULD IT BE ANY HARDER?

His breath carried that smell. That acetonic mist coming out his mouth was a combination of the countless bottles he emptied and the sticks that he ashed. His body movements were random, asynchronous, ecstatic. His body danced in the rhythm his soul longed for. Then he wrapped his arms around the body of the man in front of him. They kissed like the world stood still around them, as if time froze in silence. Their bodies swayed as one. Their lips were locked, inseparable.
The roaring bass of the music was slowly fading as the two of them drag themselves farther from their Saturday lair. They knew how to end the night in an epic fashion. Their fingers and breath intertwined as they come closer to their destination. Their thoughts were one. Their excitement on what's about to unfold was inpatient.
The film reel rolled the moment they set their feet on the man's dark sactuary. They experienced the flare of a thousand hands frisking every inch of their body. His mind was euphoric as his body was ecstatic. The man is in same state. He's not the boy he is that night. He was not himself. He and the man turned into suave snakes crawling and intertwining each others temple. They tested the malleability of each other as they went on a tableau of circularity, the great cycle of nirvana.
They decided to cry in unison. That point in bliss where they would surely find rhapsody. It was a mutual accord: a planned bustle.
They started their attempt. The 1st one was a fail. Then another, still a fiasco. The third was a faux pas.
His frustrations grew bigger than his body.
The man came close to his ear, his breath smelled like his own, and then the man whispered : "Could it be any harder?"
He knew it would never be. Maybe because his breath still carried that smell. That acetonic mist coming out his mouth.
Or maybe the spark wans't there after all.
His realizations sank in himself. He can't fool himself any longer.
He turned his back from the man, closed his eyes and fell asleep.

It was indeed difficult. I wonder who suffered the more pain.
